Three Problems
- When we run away from the storms of life, we actually spend more time in those storms than if we had instead run into them.
- Sometimes the storms of life come when we least expect them.
- We are either in a storm, on our way out of a storm, or on our way into a storm.
Seven Principles
- We are stronger and more capable than we think.
- Our bodies are built to heal themselves.
- We are strong enough not only to care for ourselves but to care for others as well.
- We don’t have to listen to fear, and we can dictate the direction of our own lives.
- Pain is a necessary prerequisite to growth, and stress has the power to build strength.
- One of the most effective ways to protect our kids is to raise them to be strong.
Three Practices
- Seek out the root cause of pain instead of ignoring it or attempting to cover it up.
- Consider with each new season, “What is the next mountain I can climb?”
- Accept without fear the reality that a storm may be right around the corner.
